FEBRUARY News

We love movement, promoting healthy living and spending time with the special people in our lives. With all the great sporting events coming up, it's important to love yourself and take care of your body properly, from eating correctly to aiding muscle recovery in every way that you can. On that note, a huge congratulations to all our clients who competed in the 70.3 Half Ironman Triathlon in East London. It's such an incredible achievement!
Braam Malherbe and his partner, Wayne Robertson, will be rowing 6 700km to Rio, in a self-sustaining, "green" boat. You can follow their journey on the  #DOTChallenge  App as they #Row2Rio. 
 
Have you got fitness goals for 2017? We would love to hear them and cheer you on as you race to achieve them. A Sports Massage is a great way to prepare your muscles for a race and enhances your performance. It also aids in muscle recovery after an event or a long run. Pilates is also a great way to keep your core strong and your body mobile to facilitate your sport performance.

Please take note the time of our Kids class has been amended for 2017. 
It's so important to have set goals, especially fitness goals, for the year ahead. It keeps you accountable and gives you something to work towards! We would love to be your "fitness partner" through it all and support you all the way by  helping you with individual stretches that your body uniquely needs or 'tweaking' your training programme after a posture assessment to address imbalances, to name but a few.
If you haven't already set goals & feel you need guidance from an exercise expert, we would be most happy to help get you on the path of fitness and good health this year. We can help you set up weekly, short term and long term goals to keep you going!
Braam and Wayne departed from the V and A Waterfront on Tuesday the 7th February! They are well on their way to Rio rowing the distance whilst raising awareness for the conservation of our seas. It was such an honour to be part of their preparation for this amazing task and we look forward to seeing them again! 
If you are unsure how soon you can come in for a sports massage (before or after an event) please do give us a call! It might vary from person to person, depending on your history and if you've had sport massages before etc. 
Your body goes through so much, show it some love and book for a sports massage! 
Good luck to all those participating in the Discovery Triathlon, the Xterra Triathlon, the Cape Peninsula marathon and the Durbanville 99'er! May your muscles carry you through it all while we cheer for you from the side of the sports massage plinth :)  We hope that February is a fun-filled and love-filled month for you all!
