Introduction To Maths For Investment Professionals

Dear <<First Name>>,

Happy New Year.

In this first newsletter for 2017, I am going to introduce our new course ‘Introduction to Maths for Investment Professionals’. We have designed this primarily for people who haven’t studied maths for some time to give them the tools they need to be successful first time in the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager exams.

We’re taking bookings for our Chartered Wealth Manager courses for the June 2017 exam sitting, so please contact us to secure your place.

Feedback from our last courses showed overwhelmingly that our delegates really value the personal support they receive inside and outside the workshops and their companies value our communication processes and flexibility. We can take provisional bookings from people awaiting exam results.

I look forward to working with you in 2017 and beyond.

Best wishes,

Cris

INTRODUCTION TO MATHS FOR INVESTMENT PROFESSIONALS

Experience tells us that people who have not studied A level Maths or who did not have an element of maths as part of their degree, find the maths required in the Chartered Wealth Manager exams challenging.

To address this we are introducing a new two day course to give people the confidence and ability to approach maths based scenarios and enable them to pass these exams more easily.

If you are not studying and would like to improve your mathematical abilities to help you at work, we will also welcome you on the course.

Course Objectives
By the end of the course, candidates will be able to carry out, interpret and analyse the following calculations through a range of different scenarios:

  • Compounding and discounting;
  • Statistical measures including standard deviation, tracking error and value at risk, correlation and covariance;
  • Statistical measures including mean, median and mode;
  • Absolute, relative and risk adjusted returns;
  • Attribution of risk and reward in investment returns;
  • Yields and ratios;
  • Currency conversions both spot and forward and their effect on returns.

Course Dates
London 16-17 February 2017
Liverpool 20-21 February 2017

The course is workshop based and will involve explanation with lots of exercises for delegates to practice their new skills. Please call us if you would like any further information.

As with all our courses, we will be keeping our delegate numbers low to ensure personal support. We can deliver the course in-company as well. Please call us to discuss.

Please call us on 0203 292 9229 or email us at info@glascow.co.uk to book a course or discuss how we can help you.
