Nesta Matthews of of KiSS Mornings with Nesta and Drew to Emcee March 10th Gala Dinner!

The host of KiSS Mornings with Nesta and Drew, Nesta Matthews is a foodie, craft junkie, and red wine addict with no inside voice and WAY too many hobbies. A former roller derby skater, she scuba dives, reads, and knits - though not at the same time - and has just taken up archery. Married to a chef and mama to a toddler, you can hear Nesta 5:30 to 9 a.m. Monday to Friday on KiSS 102.3.

Menu Planning Underway!

One of the most exciting parts of working on the Gala Dinner is having the opportunity to meet some amazing people. The chefs who volunteer for the event are not only exceptionally talented, they are also very generous and wonderful to work with. The first step to the menu planning is to assign the courses. From watching chefs on TV, one might think this would be a "Clash of the Titans". Not this group!
  • Hors d’oeuvres: Executive Chef Luc Jean from Mon Ami Louis & the Millennium Center partnering with Executive Chef Barbara O’Hara from Dessert Sinsations
  • Soup: Chef Jonathan Royal from Red River Colledge
  • Salad: Executive Chef Kristel Pastorin from The Grove Pub and Restaurant
  • Entrée: Executive Chef Phil Andrews from Delta Winnipeg
  • Dessert: Executive Chef Joel Lafond from Congregation Shaarey Zedek
They are hard at work. Once we have a finalized menu, we will post it on the Gala Dinner website www.hemophiliamb.ca/gala

Thank you 2017 Gala Sponsors

Why a Royal Theme?

One of the most common myths about hemophilia is that if you are affected, you must be related to a royal family. Queen Victoria was a carrier of hemophilia and it was passed through the royal families of Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The "Royal" theme of the event allows us an opportunity to talk about the inheritability of bleeding disorders. You might be surprised by what you learn at the event.  Or, if you thought you were in line for the British throne, you might be disappointed!
