WINTER FUN WITHOUT THE COLD!

This week I participated in a totally fun challenge over on The Stamp Nation!  They are celebrating their 6th birthday and are hosting six different challenges with specific themes to follow.  For a minute there, I forgot it was winter as I had so much in my craft room!

Challenge #1 was to make a tag and I started with a Sizzix tag diecut using watercolor paper, watercolor using the 'smoosh' technique (click photo for direct link to Kristine Werner's video), an old Sizzix snowman die and a Catherine Pooler wishes stamp.  I drew the features and water colored the areas.  Of course I had to add my Stampendous Chunky Embossing Powder for snow.

CHALLENGE #2 - MAKE A PLAYFUL/CHILD CARD

I LOVE the way this CAS card turned out!!!  I know, Lyn made a CAS card???  The party hat is a Catherine Pooler Christmas tree with the trunk snipped off.  After stamping the elephant, I masked his feet and proceeded to stamp the dot strip.

CHALLENGE #3 - TIKI TORCH
The inspiration for this card was based on photos of tiki torches that reminded me of Hawaii, so off I went starting with Fun Stampers Journey Tickled Pink stamp bundle.  I used Catherine Pooler's new inkpads (I only have 5 and one of them is black) and stamped a bunch of different images for the background.  Love this card too and, especially, the sentiment!

CHALLENGE #4 - MASCULINE
I was glad to have a reason to work with Fun Stampers Journey January Bloom Box for the masculine card theme.  I'd love to play around further with this stamp set using other inks.  The rest of my 8 Catherine Pooler inkpads arrived so I can expand my color palette for the remainder of the challenges!
SHERRY'S CAS CLUB MEETING REMINDER

Bridgeport Library
January  25, 2017 - 3:30 pm
No Fee
Theme:  Valentines Day

With A Muse Studio no longer direct selling, Sherry is changing the focus of her club to a "Shoebox Card Club!"  If you aren't familiar with the concept, all you do is create one CAS card and make 8 kits that can be easily followed.  Simple directions can be added to help in the construction process.

If you aren't interested in bringing a shoe box card, just come to club anyway!  We'll always have at least 3-4 shoebox cards for you to make.

Bring a Basic Kit and join the fun!!!

WHAT'S NEXT?
A few weeks ago, I posted the above question on my blog.  I'm happy to say I do have a second What's Next? to share!  I've been pinning Rolodex journaling/mixed media altering like crazy and want to explore this intriguing tiny way to journal.  I just so happen to have a Sizzix die that fits Rolodex's so I can easily cut any kind of paper.  If you aren't familiar with this mixed media format, just click on the photo.  I can't wait to play!!!  Stay tuned...
My first What's Next? was to work with GeliArt plates, which I haven't done yet.  Meanwhile I came across this pin and fell in love!!!  If you like decorating an envie to match your card, here's a wonderful idea.

Have a pleasant week!

(I'm in sunny and warm Florida as you're reading this e-news!)

xoxo,

LYN
