Grandparent Support Group

Clinical and Support Options (CSO) and the Bridge Family Resource Center are offering a support group for grandparents raising grandchildren. 

When? Monday evenings from
4:00 - 5:30 pm

Northampton Recovery Center

The Northampton Recovery Center is open! 
 
The Northampton Recovery Center is a support center for community members who have been impacted by the opioid epidemic. This includes people currently using or not currently using, as well as family members and friends. 

Open Mondays from 1:00 - 4:00 pm and Wednesdays from 2:00 - 3:30 pm.

Chronic Pain Support Group


Pain Pals is a peer-to-peer support  group at the YMCA in Greenfield for people with chronic pain. 

When? Wednesdays from 3 - 4 pm in the YMCA Conference Room.

This groups is free and open to the community. No registration required!

Job Posting: Real Estate Project Manager 

Rural Development Inc. (RDI) is hiring a Real Estate Project Manager. RDI is a non-profit organization created by the Franklin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority. RDI works with partners to expand housing and economic opportunities for residents and communities in Franklin County and the North Quabbin region.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership as it relates to the real estate development
  • Assist with preliminary feasibility studies to develop design concepts, budgets, and schedules
  • Draft and issue Requests for Proposals for design services and negotiate the same
  • Oversee and coordinate environmental due diligence, architectural, engineering, and survey work
One aspect of this position will focus on bringing sober housing options to Franklin County.

The GARDEN Project

The GARDEN Project 2017 is a partnership among Greenfield Community College, Montague Catholic Social Ministries, NELCWIT, and Seeds of Solidarity. The GARDEN Project is a free program where women can learn to:
  • Grown their own organic food in small spaces
  • Can, freeze or preserve food to keep or sell
  • Create a food focused cooperative
  • Install and maintain a permaculture garden 
Classes are held in Orange, Massachusetts and space is limited.

"SBIRT Implementation in Our Schools: Lessons Learned and Best Practices Shared" is a free panel discussion hosted by the Mystic Valley Public Health Coalition. Community coalitions, school nurses, administration and staff are all encouraged to attend.

YOU LEAD! is a middle school conference for student leaders and advisors.

Physiology of Addiction DVDs

DVD copies of Dr. Ruth Potee's Physiology of Addiction are still available!
 
Dr. Potee's educational video on brain science and addiction has been used at community forums, in classrooms and for staff trainings.
 
The film is also available for free online here.

Franklin County Courthouse Relocation

On Monday, February 6th, the Franklin County Courthouse will be moving to 43 Hope Street in Greenfield. The new Criminal Justice Center will include five court departments, the Law Library, the Registry of Deeds, and the Opioid Task Force.
