GG 2017 LINE UP NEWS

Before Christmas we announced One Eyed God, BAAB, The Antipoet, The Wierdstring Band, Creedy, and Banjo Bill Lloyd.

Now - ta-dah! - our first acts of the new year...

Celtic-psycho-ceilidh-punks Neck will
be with us, ready to drag everyone into the party with their infectious reels, wild riffs and powerful lyrics.

Award winning Stick in the Wheel aim to reconnect people with the past using traditional and original folk songs, telling uncompromising stories about real life now and then...
"Mixing revivalism with folk-punk attack: this is an acoustic band with attitude." - The Guardian
"A shot in the arm for contemporary folk music" - The Independent

Hoopy Frood will be with us again, playing ethereal, danceable 'psy-groove-electro-rock' - fun festival music that gets into your soul.

By popular demand the irrepressible Indian Man will be bringing his high energy bhangra fusion tunes and moves to delight you again - mixing the music of the Punjab with jazz & hiphop.

Rosie Swayne - "a little bit gypsy, a little bit theatre, a little bit curious and a lot interesting" - don't miss Rosie's solo versions of songs from her theatrical shows FOSSILHEADS: the future is petrifying and Adventures in White Privilege.

We also have festival favourites Ukejam - "the biggest musical-pitch-invasion ever; everyone is invited to be in the band", and, on the theme of interactive silliness, we will have that unbeatable morning pick-me-up Laughter Yoga!

We're very pleased to confirm that Triban Stage and Floating Lotus will be back with us, and after a 'year off' we'll have Robin Larkham's stunning, traditional Greek-inspired Windmill again too! Check out the Windcraft website to see how this 'perfect balance of beauty and practicality' works.

For the kids we'll have a whole host of new activities this year as well as some old favourites, including swingboats, vintage hand-powered rides and A Pirate Adventure - an immersive piece of theatre weaving together storytelling, games, music and bush-craft skills, with Forest School leaders from Adventures in Nature.

See you in the fields...

The Green Gathering is a festival and an education,
an interactive showcase of renewable energy and off grid solutions... all powered by wind, sun and people.

There's live music, acoustic sessions, poetry slams, comedy, dance, storytelling, interactive art, kids and teens activities, permaculture, traditional healing, ancient wisdom and crafts, campaign stalls, and 100s of practical skillshares geared to sustainable futures.

The Green Gathering has a history entwined with the Green and Peace movements, Glastonbury Festival, Stonehenge and Climate Camp. The original solar-powered festival has been through ups and downs, grown big, been busted, and gone back to its roots...
Past & Future

Authentically uncommercial and family friendly, our aim is to turn people on to low impact living.

GG is a festival beyond hedonism, for people who love the earth enough to want to celebrate it, and save it. It's a place to party - then wake up and put the world to rights!

The festival is produced by a Community Interest Company, and overseen by the Green Gathering Charity which aims to keep the spirit of the Gatherings true, while educating for sustainability and  empowering us to create a better future. The GG Charity

The GG Charity will be hosting a members' skillshare camp in Devon in May - to find out more about that, or about the Charity itself and how to become a member, see the Charity pages of our website.

FESTIVAL VISION 2025
GG has signed the Powerful Thinking Pledge to keep cutting our carbon footprint and assisting other festivals to do so too. Find out more.

We've also recently joined:

GOOD ENERGY and ECOTRICITY have each offered to donate to The Green Gathering if you switch to their renewably sourced power provision - at no extra cost to you. Go Green! Cheers.

We won a Best Festival Award from The Ale Team - they reckon we're unique!

Cheers!
