Llandudno, North Wales, 17th January 2017 - Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles are pleased to share their latest single 'Substitute' available via all major digital platforms starting 27th January 2017. The track is clear for airplay and media coverage effective immediately.
2016 was a whirlwind of activity for Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles with over 70 gigs and festivals, a debut EP and follow-up single, and a Horizons/BBC Launchpad fund win to support new music development. 'Substitute', the band's first single of 2017 hit the airwaves on January 7th in an exclusive preview by BBC Introducing/BBC Radio Wales' Adam Walton who praised the song's "undisputed killer of a chorus", drawing comparisons to Thin Lizzy.
Since that initial airplay, the rocker has begun making the indie radio rounds on several stations including play on Jim Gellatly's show on Amazing Radio and inclusion on Virgin Radio UK's Evening Playlist.
Please listen to 'Substitute' by Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles here. We would greatly appreciate any coverage or airplay.

Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles have been playing 'Substitute' live since September of last year. "It's a bit heavier than any of the tracks released so far, and maybe a little unexpected," muses Billy. "But we like to keep the repertoire a bit interesting and diverse. Hopefully, we can throw a few more surprises your way this year."
Fans who are regulars at live shows have noticed the band's evolution. Says James from Anglesey, North Wales, who attended their very first show and many since, "For me the band had taken the live show to another level and 'Substitute' truly blew me away!"
Frequent gig attendee Iestyn, a student in Liverpool, adds, "While staying allegiant to their impressive live sound, this newfound punchiness makes me very excited for the coming year! The way the lead guitar melodies are able to faultlessly complement Billy's sonorous voice and lyrics are a personal standout point."
Along with launching new music in 2017, Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles will continue to tour throughout the UK. Upcoming gig highlights include 8th February "Mark Beaumont presents..." at The Monarch in London; a March headliner at The Rocking Chair in Sheffield; and a return to Focus Wales Festival in May. Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles wish to thank the team at Horizons/BBC Launchpad fund and project manager Bethan Elfyn. Billy Bibby will be a guest of Eleri Siôn, BBC Radio Wales, on the afternoon of 31st January 2017 for an interview and in studio performance.
