A Little Representationalism Thrown In

That's a word, right?  Impressionism.  Expressionism.  Realism.  Representationalism.  Spellcheck doesn't like it, but then Spellcheck thought I meant "fiend" instead of "queen."  So  Spellcheck can join GPS Lady as being on my list of Not Always To Be Relied On.

In any case, this is a very quick note to share the two pieces I worked on today, both of which lean a little back towards representational.  Still experimental, though, as I explain, below.

This Daily Dose is quick because it's 5:40pm here and dinner is at 6:00pm and it's a 5 minute walk and it's burrito night which I hear is really exceptionally good so I am typing really fast!!!!

I just realized the title probably should be Food, Episode 2.

Warmest regards,

Rachel
Gastronomer

A 30x30 and 24x24.
Thinking about related ideas.  You can see how I am using that technique of rubbing the tone into the canvas and softening the edges in the one on the right...
... and carrying on with the same technique on the left one.
Here's the 24x24, complete.
And here's the 30x30, complete.  I kind of wish I had done these in the same size, 'cause they look really good together!
