New machine streamlines enclosure production

Enlosures for Micro-Comm RTU's and other equipment are now manufactured to an even higher standard

What use to be hours spent manually cutting and drilling holes has now been reduced to a few keystrokes- thanks to a new CNC machine that lives in a far corner of the Micro-Comm facility.

The German made machine, offered by the Hoffman corporation, is one of two in the entire Kansas City area. According to Micro-Comm panel shop manager Adrian Mullins, it not only cuts production time to about 1/3 of what it used to be, but now panels are 100% consistent when it comes to location of holes cut and drilled in the panel.

Another major benefit is safety. No more cuts from burrs or sharp edges- or worries about broken drill bits and cutting blades, as the operator stands safely behind a heavy Lexan glass during operation.

A new CNC machine speeds up panel manufacturing at the Micro-Comm facility in Olathe, KS

The machine is also quite versatile when it comes to size. It can do cutouts for our smallest enclosures all the way up to an 84" by 84" box.

Mullins added "It's a true win-win. Faster, safer, and every panel is made to our standard. That allows our panel shop to put through more quality panels with the same number of personnel."

Service news

We are often asked what are the most beneficial spare parts to have on the shelf in case of a problem?

For most standard systems, we might suggest a pressure transducer, a power supply and a radio.

Since every system is slightly different, we recommend calling the Micro-Comm service department to discuss exactly which items might be of the most benefit for you.

If keeping spare parts is not an option, remember we can always provide parts by overnight delivery as well.

Your call is important

We take pride in having an actual person answering incoming calls instead of one of those pesky auto attendants...

When calling Micro-Comm please remember while we maintain an adequate staff, there may be times where call volume is high and there may be a slight delay. Fortunately, these delays usually are not for more than a few minutes.

Since sometimes cell phone reception is poor, please clearly leave your name, call back number and brief description of the problem- we will return the call as soon as possible.
