Women’s Fund of Central Minnesota Community Foundation and Julianne Williams Fund
Grant $57,000 to Local Non-Profits
St. Cloud, Minn. – The Women’s Fund and Julianne Williams Fund of Central Minnesota Community Foundation announced today the recipients of their annual grants, totaling $57,000.  The grants were awarded to twelve area organizations focusing on improving the lives of women and girls in central Minnesota.
 
The Women’s Fund allocated $45,000 between the following nine organizations:
  • $7,126 to Helping Hands Outreach for their active aging programming for elder women.
  • $6,750 to RESOURCE, Inc. to help low income women achieve financial stability through their Skills for Success program.
  • $5,580 to ServeMinnesota for Minnesota Math Corps to help with tutoring girls in the St. Cloud area.
  • $5,400 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central MN for the Dr. Potter Bigs on Campus Mentoring Initiative.
  • $5,000 to Catholic Charities for the Domus Transitional Housing program.
  • $5,000 to Anna Marie's Shelter for general operating.
  • $3,821 to Promise Neighborhood to provide tutoring, mentoring and resources to young girls as they transition from elementary to middle schol.
  • $3,812 to Hands Across the World for their child/parent center.
  • $2,225  to the Village Family Service Center for their Girls 360 Group that focuses on improving self confidence and self esteem in girls ages 13-17.
Additionally, the Julianne Williams Fund awarded $12,000 in grants to three organizations.  The Julianne Williams Fund was established to honor the life of Julianne Marie Williams, reflect the essence of Julie and promote the building of self-esteem, safety, confidence and overall empowerment of girls and young woman through outdoor activities. Those grant recipients are:
  • $3,000 to True Friends-Annandale for their new Pathfinders Program which is geared towards young women with developmental disabilities.
  • $3,800 to Girls Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines for their Girl Scouts in ACTION camp adventure scholarships.
  • $5,200 to Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota for their Date SMART program.
Since 2002, the Women's Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation has been dedicated to strengthening the community by improving the lives of women and girls. The Women's Fund has granted over $1.2 million to support local programs in three core focus areas: girls age 10-18, women in transition and elder women.
