Color & Lines

I cannot tell you why some paintings flow along so easy and others come kicking and screaming into existence.  And still others end up with a painting knife stabbed through the middle of the canvas.  Today, I was all revved up to work on a series of three.  I had contemplated, composed and planned; all that remained was the execution.  I don't hate the results, but not sure I'm in love, either.  Take a look and tell me what you think.

Warmest regards,

Rachel
Somewhat Ambivalent

In my mind, these are abstract renderings of cliff faces.
Adding some color blocking.  Still feeling pretty good...
Here are the finished pieces.  I like the middle one the least and feel that the one on the right may be just a little too heavy.  I feel the one on the left, which is the final one completed, is mostly what I had envisioned.  Look at the individual pieces, below, and tell me what you think.
I'm not sure-- maybe the lines are too wavy.
I like this one pretty well.
This is much closer to what I set out to do.  It feels organic, layered, pushing the color yet still natural.
