The next RADF round closes on Wednesday, February 8, with $45,000 available for the usual round and $30,000 for the Green Arts category.

Chinese New Year

To help bring in the year of the Rooster, a street party is planned for Saturday, February 4, from 5pm to 9pm.

This is a free family event with Asian cuisine food stalls, kids activities, Tai Chi demonstrations, lion dances, as well as Chinese singing and dance entertainment.

The event will be held on Victoria Street, between Macalister and Nelson streets.

International Women’s Week

March 6 - 12, 2017

Promising to be an eventful week of celebrating women in the Mackay region. Queensland Women’s Week will include an awards night in Sarina and Mackay.

This year’s event has an added category, calling for nominations of young women aged 16 to 25 years old throughout the region from Sarina, Pioneer Valley, Eungella, Bloomsbury and Midge Point inclusively.

If you would like to nominate someone who is important in your life, nominations open from January 18 to February 12.

Sports Expo & Sign On Day

Sunday, February 12, from 9am - 1pm
at the MECC


100 sporting clubs and active recreation exhibitors in the one place at the same time, with something for all age groups. If you’re looking for a new sport to try, this is the place to find it.

Thinking about volunteering for the 2018 Commonwealth Games? A representative from the Games will be in attendance.

Special guests on the day will include Romelda Aiken, Queensland Firebirds netball goal-shooter, NQ Cowboys and Mackay's basketball Meteors and Meteorettes.
