WOMEN’S MARCH
We’ve got the coolest way to kick off 2017: Women of every age, ethnicity and cultural background will be marching together on January 21st to show the incoming and existing leadership of this country that we won’t stand for intolerance or abuse of any kind. We aim to help them understand what it means to be on the receiving end of not just discrimination but the degradation of spirit and the pain that comes with these abuses—all tendered in the name of levity. There’s no more room for those who lean on archaic laws and legislature in order to suppress the power of our gender as a whole. Written out like this, it sounds bizarre, right? That a small group of people would try to do that to our mothers and to our little girls? We are so profoundly inspired by what Martin Luther King, Jr. and his contemporaries did by leading the March on Washington and how The Staple Singers really provided the soundtrack to that revolution. Those songs have so much in them that is so relevant to the upcoming Women’s March, that we’ve been hitting those records pretty hard lately. RESPECT YOURSELF is our theme. We intend to march in that spirit fearlessly, and humbly. We know the ways in which we are blessed and want to give thanks by uniting with our Sisters but we also invite our Brothers since Women’s Rights are Human Rights. We have more energy than ever, with lots to spare. Our goals keep growing and taking new shape every day. Our dreams are in sharp focus. It’s our wish that every person who is willing and able out there will join the Women’s March. There will be participation in every major US city and around the world, and we are so excited to share this moment in history with you. This is the start of the next wave of a peaceful protest for the benefit of women everywhere. Women’s Rights are not for the taking, but for the making. Our Wellbeing is to make history together!
