PARENTS PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Safe Environment Presentation for Students on January 25 and 26, 2017
All Catholic schools in the diocese of Erie are annually required by the Bishops of the United States to present age-appropriate programs to our students as part of the Child Protection/Safe Environment Program. This mandate is a response to evidence that shows that students who have been inserviced in child protection topics are more likely to come forward to report cases of inappropriate behavior.
Mercyhurst Prep will offer such a program on Wednesday, January 25 and Thursday, January 26 to all of our students. Personnel from Safe Harbor Behavioral Health will present an inservice opportunity to students within the context of their theology classes. The presentation will focus on the theme of healthy relationships and will include topics such as communication, healthy decision making, how to identify an abusive relationship and how someone can get help.
If, for some reason, you do not want your child to participate in this program, please call Mrs. DiTullio at 824.2323 so that your son or daughter may be excused from this presentation on the day it is presented. In this case or in the event that your child is absent from the assembly due to illness or other necessary reason, MPS is required to send to you a Parent Training Packet so that you can complete the inservicing at home as well as a Parent Option Form that we must ask you to complete and return for our records.

Grammy nominated international vocalist and bandleader Solitaire Miles Robinson ‘85
MPS helped me stay in a private school by offering me a music scholarship, and I couldn’t have attended the school without it. It was MPS that gave me the drive and ambition to live and work in Manhattan and Chicago and to travel around the world performing my music in cities like London and Paris. I came from a low income home, but MPS took me in and gave me the music scholarships and training which have been the most important foundation for the successful career I have today.”
Scholarships are provided according to financial need, as well as merit based scholarships for academics and the arts.
