"Mormons have been giving two years, and we've been giving excuses." E. Scott Martin, the National Director for Chi Alpha, said. He made this statement to the 6,000 people who were in attendance at The World Missions Summit, held in Houston, Texas on January 4th through the 7th. The conference, which takes place every four years, is created to help college students grasp more of a deeper world view when it comes to missions. YSU Chi Alpha was represented as Joe and 12 of our students loaded up a 15 passenger van and headed south.  While there, they participated in various missions experiences, incredible worship services and inspiring messages. Students and their leaders also had the opportunity to sit around a table to share a "meal with a missionary". Try picturing over 500 round tables each occupied with a missionary and students! It was incredible! We were inspired by the idea that every student gives, every student prays, every student welcomes, and every student goes, with the main challenge of "Give a year, and Pray about a lifetime." Approximately 1,800 students answered this call and have pledged to spend a year of their life in missions, either overseas or here in the US. Joe is following up with a couple of our students who feel God calling them to this area of ministry as well!
 
We are excited about what has happened in the lives of our students who went on the trip!  We believe that it will help propel them into some amazing opportunities to share Jesus with those they come in contact with on campus.  Please continue to pray with us and our national leaders, for these students...that God will lead them to the place that He has for them!
