Join us this Sunday for the 1st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration: A collaboration with North Stamford Community Church! Pastor Todd and Pastor Jacki Gilchrist will be co-preaching the sermon entitled, "Sacred Conversation on Dr. King's Legacy." There will be special music from Timothy Wallace, Jason L. Terry, Good News Gospel Choir and New World Chorus. The scripture reading is from 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 and we will continue our six-week "Living Our Values" series. This week's theme is Faith.
This coming week I'll be in Stamford for King Day celebrations on Sunday and Monday. Even though the office is closed Monday in celebration of the holiday, I'll be here. Tuesday morning I'll be in the office. I leave Tuesday afternoon for retreat and will be on retreat Wednesday. I'll be out of phone contact on Wednesday, so let Deacon Peter Birch know if you need immediate assistance.
On January 8, we began our new series of the worship services called “Living our Values”. Each week, the sermon will focus on each of the core values that hold FCC together: Community, Faith, Evolving, Affirmation, Compassion and Courage. Join us to hear how we can incorporate these values in our everyday living as Christians!
New Member Sunday is January 29th. New Member Classes will be held on Sunday, January 15 and 22 at noon in Pastor Todd’s office. If you would like to learn more about the principles and foundation of First Congregational Church and are considering becoming a member, please join us! RSVP to the church office so we can plan for your attendance.
Sunday school will be learning about baptism during the month of January. Baptism, the introduction into the life of faith, is a once performed, but remaining an important part of our identity as Christians. We meet at 10:30 for worship and then head upstairs to our Sunday school classrooms. Children and their visitors are always welcome! Children's bulletins are available in the basket in the front of the sanctuary at the beginning of the worship service.
