THIS STRONGEST STRUCTURE IN THE UNIVERSE

This is what the strongest structure in the universe looks like. In 2015, UCSB College of Engineering mechanical engineer and materials scientist Jonathan Berger developed an idea to push the boundaries of high-performance structural materials. Two years later, he has proven his theory and published a letter in the journal, Nature, with UCSB materials and mechanical engineering professor Robert McMeeking and materials scientist Haydn N.G. Wadley from University of Virginia.

CELEBRATE 50 YEARS WITH US

UCSB College of Engineering will be hosting an Alumni Reception with delicious food, special guests, and honorees. Seize this opportunity to reconnect with fellow engineers from your class, reminisce about your first engineering achievements, and recognize your contributions to our rich community.

We will be planting our first-ever Time Capsule, filled with items representing our past, present, and impact on the future -- suggested by our alumni, faculty, and friends, in the Engineering II Courtyard. Make your mark by including your very own contributions!
