Office Notes
Registration for 2017-18 school year begins today!
Check your child's home folder for important registration information including NEW deadlines and fee schedule. Half-day kindergarten students will receive their packets at school tomorrow.

Congratulations
Congratulations to 7th grader Ian Walsh and his Shorewood Tech Challenge team The Robo-Hounds who qualified for the State FTC Tournament Feb 3-4. The team and their robot "THOR" will continue to practice and make revisions over the next 3 weeks. Way to go Robo-Hounds!


Reminder
Double parking and jaywalking have increased on Maryland Avenue during morning drop-off. Please discontinue these unsafe practices and follow our designated procedures, which were developed in conjunction with the Village Police Department and designed to keep traffic flowing and everyone safe. Your cooperation is a model for all of our children and helps us keep this great dedicated drop-off zone!

Middle School Showcase auditions
Students interested in being part of the cast or crew of Shrek The Musical, Jr. please come to a Meet & Greet with our Show Director, Karl Miller, and our Music Director, Valerie Miller on Thursday, Jan.19th, 3:15-4:30 PM in Reilly Hall. You will learn about their vision for the show and get information about the audition process and interviews for crew leadership positions. It's time to form your trivia teams!

Pancake Breakfast and Barefoot Books Book Fair - Mark your calendar!
Kicking off Catholic Schools Week later this month is our annual Pancake Breakfast on Sun. Jan. 29. Enjoy hot pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee in Reilly Hall from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. We look forward to seeing all school families at this FREE event, and be sure to visit our book fair as well, featuring gorgeous titles from Barefoot Books and Usborne Books for your family library.

Used uniform sale
We are seeking inventory for our Used Uniform Sale! Please consider donating your child's gently worn uniform items. Drop off donations in the school office any time, and plan on visiting the Uniform Sale during Open House on Jan. 29th.

Emerald Auction update

Auction Item Donations, Family Sponsors and Corporate Advertisers Sought

We need your help to make this year’s Emerald Auction a success! We are currently seeking item donations for the 10 categories listed below. Simply download the item donation form and submit it to the school office or via email to the category contact listed below. Item donation forms must be submitted by February 1 to be included in the catalog. We are also in need of family sponsors to underwrite the costs of the event, and corporate advertisers/sponsors. Winter Volleyball Camp
St. Robert has teamed up with St. Marcus to offer a Winter Volleyball Camp for girls in 4th - 6th grade. The four-session camp will begin on Jan. 21, so click here to sign up right away! Contact Shelly Roder with any questions.


Parish News
Scouting Update
The Scouts of St. Robert's Boy Scout Troop 15 sharpened their rock climbing skills last Saturday at Turner's Hall Climbing Center. Two Webelos from St. Robert's Cub Scout Pack 15 joined in the fun, Kai Force and Seb Dzeidzic. Overall, Troop 15 had 14 Scouts going up and down the climbing walls as each boy trained to belay his partner. Troop 15 looks to recruit 5th grade or older boys into the Scout Troop this winter and spring. The Troop's next meeting will be Jan. 26 at 7 pm in Hubbard Park, Shorewood. If your boy might be interested in learning more about Troop 15 please contact Scoutmaster Jim Sanders at drjimsanders@yahoo.com to learn more.

Young performers needed for Children of Eden
The St. Thomas More High School Theater Department will be presenting the wonderful musical Children of Eden in March 2017, and we are asking for your help in rounding out our cast. We are looking for an ensemble of talented young performers to join our production! If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Theater Director Matt Zembrowski.


Shorewood Little League Registration
Registration is now open for the 2017 Shorewood Little League season — through Feb. 15!
Any boy or girl who lives in Shorewood or attends a Shorewood school is eligible to play. Players must be in grades 1-8 OR be league age 6-14. To register, visit shorewoodlittleleague.com. If you need help, email Rick Frieseke  or call 414-731-9875. Registrations received after Feb. 15 will be assessed a late fee and team placement will not be guaranteed.
