Happy New Year! Frenchman Bay Conservancy will be celebrating three decades in operation this year. We already have an exciting, event-filled year in the works including a 30th anniversary community celebration. Great Maine Outdoor Weekend
Cross-country ski, snowshoe, or hike the Sunrise Trail

Join East Coast Greenway Alliance, Frenchman Bay Conservancy, & Sunrise Trail Coalition for a great day on the snowy trail in celebration of Great Maine Outdoor Weekend!
Meet at the Downeast Sunrise Trail parking lot on Railroad Siding Road, off Washington Junction Road in Ellsworth at 10:00 am. Refreshments to follow around a bonfire! Event is free and open to the public, but please register.

FBC Receives Maine Community Foundation grant
Frenchman Bay Conservancy (FBC) has received a $5,000 grant from the Fund for Maine Land Conservation of the Maine Community Foundation to conduct a natural resource inventory and develop a management plan for newly acquired conservation land protecting critical wetland habitat in Gouldsboro.
The newly acquired Lower West Bay Pond Connector Preserve in Gouldsboro conserved valuable inland wading bird and waterfowl habitat in the region. For the past decade, FBC has promoted the vision of a conserved lands corridor in a ten mile long nationally significant wildlife corridor from Schoodic Mountain to Schoodic Peninsula, where Maine’s north woods continue virtually uninterrupted to the rocky Downeast coastline. Once a management plan is developed and trails are created, FBC will open the preserve to the public for recreational use.

FBC provides snow removal at the following preserve parking lots: Baker Hill, Long Ledges, Tidal Falls, Corea Heath, and Taft Point. We encourage you to get out and enjoy hiking or snowshoeing often this winter!
