Applications Available Soon for 2017 High School Healthcare Scholarships

Foundation for Community Health's 27th annual high school healthcare scholarship season is upon us. Scholarship applications will be open to high school seniors who intend to pursue a career in medicine, nursing, or other health-related field and meet the eligibility requirements. The minimum scholarship award is $1,000 and the awarding of Premier Scholarships is considered by our Foundation's Education Committee as annual applications are reviewed. The Foundation and our generous donors are dedicated to helping students become tomorrow’s caring healthcare professionals. In our 26-year history, with the generous support of our donors, the Foundation has awarded $397,000 to 590 scholarship recipients. The 2017 healthcare scholarship cycle will also offer funding for professional development opportunities. More information about professional development scholarships will be released soon.

Our Foundation plans to make applications available on January 27, 2017 with a submission deadline in March. Applications will be available online at
fchwmt.org/scholarships or by request at 406.926.2522. Applicant eligibility and application requirements can be found on the Foundation website. Please call the Foundation office at 406.926.2522 or email foundation@fchwmt.org if you have any questions.

Health Grants Awarded to Two in Program's Second Cycle
Foundation for Community Health has committed $3,000 in funding to two organizations in the second cycle of our new Health Grants Program. The second cycle in the Health Grants Program offered funding opportunities in three categories. The Foundation Board of Trustees and Health Grants Committee are pleased to announce the following recipients:
  • Child Care Resources, Health Issues Public Education
  • North Missoula Community Development Corporation, Health Issues Public Education
These commitments bring the funding total for fiscal year 2017 to $21,800, benefiting health-focused projects of eight organizations. The Foundation looks forward to cultivating partnerships with these organizations to advance the health of vulnerable children, families and others in western Montana communities. Information regarding the next Health Grant cycle will be released later in January, 2017. More information about Foundation initiatives can be found at fchwmt.org or by calling 406.926.2522.
