A New Year, Renewed Faith

As we have started the new year, Luke and I have had a real sense before the Lord that this was to be a year of HOPE and PEACE.

In wrapping up last year, I found myself really stressed out about life and how things were and that I just needed to take things into my own hands. So I did. I found myself taking on more and trusting God less. I can't even begin to explain how heavy I felt. I mean, I did have faith for other things like work and the lives of my students but not for the more intimate things in my life like my family and my future. So, I came back to the issues at hand... Why am I stressed? ... It hit me like a ton of bricks - Lack of trust due to unbelief.  OUCH!

There is no doubt I have seen God do INCREDIBLE things in my life. I have endless stories of His provision and guidance in every area. So WHY then do I suddenly decide that I can't trust Him now? Is He really too small to handle my personal fears. Are my concerns about how to raise my children and how to keep a strong healthy marriage too much for God? Apparently I did think that because of my actions.

So after a lot of tears and repentance before the Lord, I shifted my gaze back to Him once more and all is as it should be. My HOPE is anchored in Him and my heart is at PEACE. I look forward to this year with my New Year's Revelation to remember to keep my eyes fixed on Him.

Many, many blessings upon you,

Angela

WE'RE GOING TO GREECE!!!
It is time for the Overseas portion of the DTS. For our field assignment this school we are heading to Greece to work with Refugees. With the past 5 years of war and genocide in surrounding countries, large numbers are escaping to Greece and other nearby countries.

One of our family values is we value our WHOLE family being a part of mission, so we are planning to take the WHOLE family with us on this trip. In order for us to do this we need to raise $12,000 by next week. Although there is a short time frame, we are completely at peace with God as our provider. If you'd like to help us with this need, please click below.

At the end of the year, Kindi (11) decided to get baptized. What a sweet gentle and kind heart she has. We were all moved by the Spirit as we witnessed this and prayed for her. What a joy it is to see our children walking toward the Father. My prayer is that it only goes deeper. The other 3 are doing amazing. The whole family has been so overjoyed to have so many family and friend visitors this year. Luke's brother, sister and her kids came from Australia in October. Angela's brother came from New Zealand in November. And Angela's brother and family from Australia. Friends from all over have come and left us with full hearts.

The DTS has just wrapped up the Local Outreach portion of their Field Assignment. We have tons of stories about encountering people with the love of Jesus in so many ways across the San Francisco Bay Area. We have served with so many ministries on the ground across the Bay from San Francisco to Berkeley and here in San Jose. The team has been incredible as they have continually stepped out in faith as the Lord has called.
Please join with me im prayer for them as they have financial needs for outreach as well. If you would like to give toward their need,  go to the YWAM Ember Ink website.

MORE ON GREECE: We will be traveling to Athens and serving YWAM ministries and locations who are providing care and support to the many displaced families.

Athens is the main funnel by which every refugee who lands on any of the Greek islands must pass through before reaching the rest of Europe. Due to the rising problems with the border between Macedonia and Greece, many refugees are now turning back into the city of Athens, and with those coming in, the situation is getting chaotic.  In the city, we are connected with YWAM Athens, who has multiple different Refugee Ministries to serve in, and there is always a need.

We aren't 100% sure of the ways we will be involved but we're vey much looking forward to seeing how, not only the DTS can serve, but how we as an entire family can serve as well.

We'd appreciate lots of prayer over this time (Prayer Points are below).

Why We Raise Support

We'd appreciate prayer as we prepare for Greece for the month of February. Specifically for:

- Getting our Finances in time ($12,000 by Jan 28)
- Organizing the kid's schooling for when we are away
- Xavier's transitions
(he's always done well, but always needs prayer)
- For Angela's Hip as we travel. She has calcified tendonitis in her left hip and it has been really painful over the last 3 months.

- For the Team as we shift to a more intense situation.
- The Team finances, as they still need to see more come in.

Thank you for your continued support an prayer. We are always thankful for the covering as we step out in faith as a family into what we feel the Lord is leading. We love this faith adventure he has us on as we surrender to Him. Thanks you for being a part of this journey with us!

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
    along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.
