Special Wednesday Dance Technique & Performance Workshop (for dancers-in-training, ages 12 and up - adults welcome too!)

STH is happy to welcome choreographer and contemporary dance instructor Gentry Isaiah George to the STH faculty. Gentry will be taking over Stephanie Franck's Ballet, Modern, and Contemporary Repertory classes this spring while she is on maternity leave.

SPECIAL OFFER TO ADULT DANCERS:

STH would like to extend a special invitation to all dancers with some previous dance training, ages 12 and up (yes, adults dancers too!) to join Gentry Isaiah George's Wednesday 5:30-6:45pm CONTEMPORARY DANCE & REPERTORY Performance Workshop this spring.

This class will be half modern & ballet technique, and half learning a new piece of original choreography Gentry will create on and with the class, to be performed at STH's LOCAL PRODUCE Festival in June among other spring performance events. (Although it will be an “open level” class, young dancers and adults must have some previous modern and/or ballet dance training to take this workshop. )

Young dancers can register for the 18 week class online.  Adult dancers and teachers can purchase a “STH Professional Courtesy Card” (10 classes for $100) - or drop-in if there is space for $20 a class.  Class size will be limited to no more than 12 dancers - first come, first served.

Classes run Wednesdays February 8th - June 14th

For further information and to register, please contact spoke@spokethehub.org or call: 718.408-3234

WANTS YOU!

STH is now accepting proposals from professional performing and teaching artists of all genres for:

WORKSHOPS & PERFORMANCES
Performances and workshops can be held under our big top tent in front of the STH Re:Creation Center on Union Street in Park Slope, or somewhere out on the street itself on Saturday June 3rd, 2017.

SITE SPECIFIC MULTI-ARTS WORKSHOPS & PERFORMANCES
Think low- or no-tech outdoor, site specific performances and participatory, family friendly arts workshops, to be presented in several of Park Slope’s most luscious community gardens throughout the month of June 2017. You choose your green space - or we will choose one for you - and let us know what you would like to present. Presentations should be approximately 10-60 minutes long and could be composed of a combination of things -  an informal performance followed by a participatory workshop, for example - or be part of a shared showcase of various artists'  works.

COMPENSATION
Honorariums will be paid to all professional performers and teaching artists;  exact amount will depend on number of performers and length of presentation.

Please send or drop off a one page proposal of what you would like to create/present at LOCAL PRODUCE plus a video link of 3 representative recent work samples.
