Lately, I've been thinking about those lyrics from entertainer Jack Johnson's catchy tune, The Sharing Song. Indeed, it's true--blessings are sweeter when you can enjoy them with others.
This year we celebrate WWU's 125th birthday, and it'll certainly be much sweeter if we celebrate together!
Join us for Homecoming Weekend (April 27-30), where you'll experience a full slate of rich activities. You shouldn't miss this year's Thursday night banquet program, featuring all of WWU's living past presidents. Hit the links on Friday for a spectacular day of golf. On Sabbath, soak in the wonderful music (that organ!) as we worship together, and then close out the day with the Messengers (and more birthday surprises). And don't miss our annual Alumni Fun Run and Car Show...and lots more!

Celebrating 125 Years During Homecoming Weekend
This year, we are celebrating our 125th birthday throughout the year, and most certainly during Homecoming. Enjoy celebrations throughout the weekend as we recall the blessings of our university's history. In addition, we will be celebrating the Aviation Program's 50th anniversary and 10 years since the establishment of the WWU chapter of Engineers Without Borders.
The Messengers, the well-known WWU singing and traveling group lead by Mike Loewen in the 1970s and 1980s, will have a reunion as well as a concert Saturday evening during our "Blast from the Past" birthday celebration.
Our honor classes this year are 1957, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1987, 1982, 1992, 1997, and 2007.

Aviation Program Marks 50th Anniversary
 The Aviation Program is celebrating 50 years of flight this year. Today, they have a fleet of seven planes, including this Piper Arrow (pictured right). The program offerings have expanded through the years to include bachelor of science degrees in aviation and aviation management.

ASWWU Sends Refugees to School
This year, the Associated Students of Walla Walla University (ASWWU) are working with Impact Hope to help Congolese refugees in Rwan  da finish high school. Founded by Hans Thygeson (1990 business administration major) and his wife, Mindy, Impact Hope sends displaced student refugees to Adventist boarding schools for around $600 per year.
When ASWWU contacted Impact Hope, they had sponsored around 200 refugees to attend Adventist boarding academies in Rwanda. In fall quarter alone, ASWWU’s Hope in the Hills  campaign raised enough to send an additional 77 refugee students to school! The ASWWU goal is $75,000 and they are nearly 75 percent complete.

Construction Begins on Bowers
 A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday, Jan. 16, to mark the beginning of a renovation project that will transform Bowers Hall, home of the Walla Walla University School of Business. Click here to read more.

Formerly managed by Alumni and Advancement Services, the Alumni Association is now overseeing their usage. To make an online reservation, click here. The rate is still $60/night plus tax.
• Camper/RV accommodations available. Looking for a place on campus to stay while visiting? Camper/RV parking is available behind Sittner, the men’s dormitory.
