Community Based Strategic Plan Update

In September 2016, Council received the draft 2016 Community Based Strategic Plan Report Card highlighting the progress to date on the short term (1-3 year) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The preliminary results showed that the Town is well on track in its first year since approving the Community Based Strategic Plan (CBSP).

A public meeting was held October 18, 2016 to seek input from residents on our progress to date and any suggested additional KPIs to add to the CBSP Report Card. Several residents provided comments about various projects and initiatives they would like to see the Town work on however there were no additional KPIs suggested to be added to the CBSP report card.

Staff Report P2017-01 2016 Community Based Strategic Plan Report Card Update was presented to the Strategic Initiatives Standing Committee January 23, 2017 including a few staff recommendations for additional KPIs and amended KPIs. This report will be received by Council for consideration at the January 30th Council meeting and can be viewed here: http://www.collingwood.ca/files/2017-01-23_SICAgendaPKG.pdf

Collingwood could be the next Kraft Hockeyville Community

With your help, the Town of Collingwood could be the next Kraft Hockeyville, which would include hosting an NHL® Pre Season Game and receiving $100,000 in arena upgrades.

For the past 11 years Kraft has held the Hockeyville contest to help communities across Canada by encouraging residents to come together to support their respective communities’ future in hockey.

If Collingwood wins, the money could be used for upgrades and accessibility features for change rooms
at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena (EBMA) which would be an amazing outcome of this effort and have wide–reaching benefits for the community.

Please share your passion for hockey and help Collingwood become the next Kraft Hockeyville by logging onto the Kraft Hockeyville 2017 website www.khv2017.ca to nominate the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena today!

The deadline for nominations is February 4th, 2017.
