Welcome to the 6th issue of PEP Talk!
Our goal is to raise awareness about the program and to create stronger community.

"Parenting often feels like a fifty-sided Rubik’s cube, deceivingly simple before you really get into it, but then seemingly impossible to figure out when you’re in the thick of things..."
Hemophilia Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Bleeding Disorders Program, in cooperation with the CHS-Manitoba Chapter, hosted a PEP workshop in Regina at the end of April. Three affected families along with facilitators met to share stories, parenting techniques, and learn about the bleeding disorders that affect their families. Everyone enjoyed connecting with other members of the community, sharing some laughs, and enjoying some great food throughout the weekend. The participants left with new ideas to incorporate into their parenting, and even the facilitators learned a few things about a rare bleeding disorder affecting one of the participating families.

Travelling this summer? Be sure to check out these resources available through the CHS: the Travel Card and the Bon Voyage! Travelling with a bleeding disorder booklet.

How to involve your child in their health care

"Talking regularly to your child about their health can help ease any fears and allow them share any concerns. It can also help make sure that they understand their treatment and why they need it."
Please send us your submissions and ideas for the next issues of PEP Talk!
