Lunar New Year Party-TODAY!
Please join our department on Friday, January 27 for the Lunar New Year 2017 Celebration! This year the celebration will be held from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the Student Community Center (Multipurpose Room), which is located opposite Rock Hall, not far from the Silo. Food and drink will be provided by the department. We hope to see you there!

Come learn about the Actuarial Sciences Association at UC Davis and what it means to be an actuary, the #1 ranked job in the US in job satisfaction and compensation/benefits. We'll covering what actuaries are, the various professions that actuaries work in, and exciting opportunities within the club to solve real world actuarial problems. No prior experience is needed. Food will be provided!

Recently Interim Chancellor Hexter sent a message to the UC Davis community regarding the recent vandalism on the Islamic Center of Davis. You can view the full statement here. I wanted to reiterate some of the resources for students below and add a few more.
- walk-in counseling services are available in the Student Health and Wellness Center
- students can speak with an advice nurse by calling 530-752-2349
- students can speak with a counselor at the various campus community centers through the Community Advising Network
- incidents of hate and bias can be reported here

New Tutoring Resources at SASC
The Student Academic Success Center will now offer Tutor-Led Content Review by Subject. Group review sessions provide subject-specific assistance on specific topics. Session leaders have already aced the class so they know what students need help with. There is no need to sign up in advance. You can also access materials posted by the Content Review leaders via Google Drive.
