Happy New Year <<First Name>>!

The official JNTO statistics are out, and Japan absolutely blew it out of the water last year, welcoming over 24 million international visitors into the country in 2016!
Of these, a record-breaking 445 thousand were Australian travellers.

Thank you to all of our travel agent, airline, and media partners for helping to make Japan the #8 destination for Australians travelling internationally!

Insider Tip #20: Omiyage (souvenirs)
When visiting a (potential or preexisting) business partner, in addition to your business cards it is always a good idea to bring along some omiyage, or souvenirs. The best omiyage are edible specialties of your region, ideally neatly packaged in individually-wrapped servings.

It is also Japanese custom to bring omiyage back from a trip, not only for friends and family, but for your colleagues - especially any who have been inconvenienced by your absence.

Many people prefer to buy these as the last thing they do on their trip (both so they don't have to cart them around on their travels, and so they have the least chance of crumbling up in their luggage), which is why you so often find neatly packaged goodies (especially sweets) in not just tourist attractions but major train stations and airports.
