MENTORS - The Sixth Form students who acted as mentors to the Lower School Talent Show acts
Dancer Danielle James won this year's Boswells School Lower School Talent Show with a routine which she choreographed herself.
The Year 8 student won over the judges, and audience, with the piece which was described as "physically demanding displaying rhythm, technique and charisma".
A packed audience saw the varied skills of the school's youngest students. Sixteen acts made it to the grand final after rigorous auditions which were conducted by Year 12 Performing Arts students.
The competition was very close and the judging panel, made up of senior teachers from the school and ex-students who are all successful performers, had some hard to decisions to make to select their top three acts.
Third place went to a dance duet which combined ballet and street dance (Abigail Wiltshire and Ella Colley).
Second place went to Eleanor Lamb who played the piano and sang.
Assistant Headteacher Cheryl Noble said: "To see students have the confidence to create their own pieces and perform them to a large audience under the guidance of our Sixth Form students is very pleasing.
"It is also lovely to welcome back ex-students who are still passionate about the school and its performing Arts provision many years after they have left."
She added: "All of the acts were worthy of being in the final and along with the Year 12 students who hosted the event, put on a superbly entertaining evening."
