Wow! What a scary political era we're in! So many of us don't approve of what's happening in Washington and are fearful of the direction the country appears to be headed. Who knows what relaxed measures the new FDA and EPA might adapt, or what laws might be implemented or reversed?
So now, more than ever, it's important to be focused on what inspired me to start Tara's in the first place: Create as small of an impact on the environment as possible. Use seasonally available local ingredients. Support independent, sustainability-focused, organic-insisting businesses. Work with small local farms and dairies who share my values.
I'm not if my doing this will be felt in the White House, but if everyone does, it certainly will!

Three Things I Resolve To Do in 2017
You are much more likely to achieve your goals if you share them with someone who will keep you accountable. So I'm sharing my 2017 goals for Tara's Organic Ice Cream with all of you! These are the improvements I'm excited to bring this year!
- Expand our wholesale line of products to include TOIC Sauces (Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate, and Caramel) and Hot Chocolate Mix. Plus, add a few flavors of ice cream and sorbet to the retail line.
- Bring back TOIC Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches by adding equipment to make organic cookies ourselves.
- Give back more to our amazing community by providing contributions to local organizations AND continue to grow my support of local small businesses.
Happy 2017!! I hope you achieve all the goals you have set for yourself as well!

This is a dark chocolate and cinnamon spiced ice cream. Inspired by a hot drink in Mexico, this ice cream fills the chocolate craving and adds another spark. Even with so much love it's not too sweet. ;-). Come get a scoop or a sample!

Spotlight: Sausalito's Driver's Market
Driver's Market in Sausalito is one of the best independent markets in the Bay Area, and probably the entire country. Founded by Adam and Graham Driver in 2011, Driver's Market is just a block off the tourist-focused section of Sausalito yet it focuses on serving the local community both as a functional food market and a gourmet destination. The accomplish their mission, to connect people with each other and the foods they eat, through the products they carry, workshops they promote and overall welcoming vibe they create in the store. Plus, I love they are are highly purpose-driven, focusing on small producers, sustainability and community service. Make the effort to drop in next time you visit Marin County.
