Cal Water Responds to City's Water Service Review Request

On January 17, 2017, Cal Water Responded to the Proposed Oroville Domestic Water Service Municipal Service Review.

Cal Water has made it clear that Cal Water’s business, property and service area are not for sale and the only way the City or another water supplier could attempt to take Cal Water’s system is through eminent domain. Cal Water provided information on the potential costs to customers if such an action were to occur. Click on the link below for Cal Water’s response letter to the City of Oroville.

Extension for Payroll Deposits

Employers in Alameda, Alpine, Butte, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Humboldt, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Ventura, Yolo and Yuba Counties directly affected by the severe winter storms may request up to a 60-day extension of time from the EDD to file their state payroll reports and/or deposit state payroll taxes without penalty or interest. This extension may be granted under Section 1111.5 of the California Unemployment Insurance Code (CUIC). A written request for extension must be received within 60 days from the original delinquent date of the payment or return. 17th Annual Northstate Economic Forecast Conference Recap
The Oroville Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to have made a big presence at 17th Annual Northstate Economic Forecase Conference. We had over 20 people attend the conference with the Chamber, filling three tables. We'd like to thank everyone who attended with us and look forward to next year.

Regional Agritourism Summits
The University of California Small Farm Program and UC Cooperative Extension advisors in four California regions are working with local partners to organize Regional Agritourism Summits for everyone involved in California agritourism. The Summits will be occasions for farmers, ranchers, county planners, the tourism community and others involved to share, learn, and plan together.
