This year will be a busy one in the ACC space.
The WSMP stopping; the introduction of the Safety Star Rating scheme; changes to Experience Rating; focus on Occupational Health... on top of that there is the usual day-to-day savings we create.
Hi <<First Name>>
We have prepared the following to keep your association or firm up-to-date with ACC matters. As always we invite you to share with your members / clients and we welcome your questions and comments.

ACC Safety Star Rating (SSR): Everything is tracking well with July still being the launch date. A decision paper is due with both the ACC and WorkSafe boards in February that covers the final product design. A formal announcement is eminent late February.
We will keep you updated as things evolve. For now I want to share with you that we are working with an affiliate in creating a tool whereby a business can easily do the SSR self-assessment as part of their day-to-day health & safety management. We are exploring making this a “naked label” product and providing this to your association as part of our relationship. I anticipate providing more details over the next 4 – 6 weeks.

Experience Rating (ER): ACC are reshaping the Experience Rating scheme. The current scheme does not work well as a motivating tool for business to a] prevent injuries from occurring and b] manage claims effectively when injuries do occur.
We have been formally invited by ACC to help in the redesign which starts on 2 February. We are doing this on behalf of all our industry partners and we will keep you up-to-date with progress and developments.  At last count we are directly representing 16 associations and indirectly another 6.
ACC's aim is to implement the new design Experience Rating scheme in 2019.

ACC Fact-sheets for Industry: ACC is exploring ways to connect more effectively with industry to provide knowledge and training on their products. To facilitate this we have suggested to ACC that we (Manage Company) create a series of 5 fact-sheets on their behalf covering key topics and tailor these to industry. ACC agreed. The first of the five is set for March than monthly after that. We will also do two separate fact-sheets to cover the Safety Star Rating scheme and the correlated focus on Occupational Health.
We want these to be your resources and have them branded under your association - so in essence they become your collateral. Please note we are doing this as a value add to your association. We will share samples with you later in February and work with you with respect to your branding.
The 5 topics are:
  1. Experience Rating - scheduled for March
  2. Cover Plus Extra - scheduled for April
  3. Claims - scheduled for May
  4. Return-to-Work - scheduled for June
  5. ACC 101 - scheduled for July
2017 Calendar: We are looking at more ways to collaborate with our partners this year. Seminar and roadshows have proven to be a very effective way in enabling us to help educate members on ACC changes. Thank you to those who have already assisted Debbie in this project by providing dates for regional and national meetings, conferences, etc. For those that haven't yet replied can you please do so (debbie@managecompany.co.nz).
