Taking Antidepressants May Up the Risk of Hip Fracture in Older Adults
According to a newly published study in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, older adults with Alzheimer's disease who are on antidepressants for treating symptoms of dementia may be at twice the risk of hip fracture, states The Health Site. Researchers determined that the risk was highest at the start of antidepressant use and remained elevated even four years later. Learn more.

As of January 13, the National Study of Long-Term Care Providers (NSLTCP) has received responses from 51% of the residential care communities that were invited to participate. All directors of residential care communities that received a 2016 NSLTCP Residential Care Community Questionnaire are encouraged to submit and complete it by web or by mail by early February.
