FPDS alumni and brothers JC, Chandler, and Clint Pride recently visited with the sixth grade class, encouraging the students in their faith by sharing stories of their own testimonies and years at the Day School.
JC Pride is a freshman at the University of Mississippi and held many high school honors, including salutatorian, Mr. Jackson Prep, and football and soccer all-star.
“Here at FPDS you are given a great discipline of being in the Word. That might change when you go to junior high next year. But, through the past six or seven years here, you have the privilege of being spiritually disciplined in the Word.”
Chandler Pride, a senior at Mississippi State University, has been accepted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for the fall of 2017.
“In first, second, and third grades, I knew who Jesus was through what First Pres. taught me. But in sixth grade, it really sunk in.”
Clint Pride is currently a student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, planning to practice emergency medicine.
“As you move on from FPDS, it is so easy to become entranced. We are unconsciously reaching for things to satisfy us that never will. We will forever be unsatisfied if we don’t find our satisfaction in Jesus. Our challenge as Christians is to be excited and be joyful. Have fun. Tackle life wholeheartedly and do it all for the glory of God.”
