It’s time to check in about our programs for 2017!

As you know, I’ve made a variety of changes to the programming - expanding my adult programs and reducing my youth programs - in order to have more time to work on the editing of the Abantey manuals and writing stories for our games.

Ongoing Programs Youth Programs

I am offering two ongoing Abantey groups for youth. I have space available in both groups. Discounts apply when you enroll for 6 consecutive meetings.

Abantey: 1st & 3rd Friday Nights (6 PM - 10 PM), ages 15 - 17 (registration link)
Abantey: 1st Saturday (noon - 5 pm), ages 13 - 15 (registration link)

Holiday Youth Programs (3 Day Programs) (link)

These 3 day events are for six players, ages 14 – 17. Their characters will embark on an epic adventure, designed to create an intricate and unique story. These groups will focus on character development and exploring how to direct the story as a player. The characters will tackle challenges in a time of turmoil as the Eighth Creator returns to Abantey!

I hope to offer more of my 3 Day Programs for school holidays. However, I need to know that there is interest before I add the events to the registration system. I need at least 4 participants to enroll to be able to hold a 3 Day Program.

The cost for each 3 Day Program is $300.

These are the 3 Day Program Dates I am considering.

February 21 - 23 (Tuesday - Thursday) (each day 9 AM to 5 PM)
April 4 - 6 (Tuesday - Thursday) (each day 9 AM to 5 PM)
April 11 - 13 (Tuesday - Thursday) (each day 9 AM to 5 PM)

Please email me as soon as possible if you are interested in any of these program dates. When I have heard from enough people, I will create the events in the registration system, and notify those who are interested.

Looking ahead to Youth Summer Programs

We're already planning for the summer here at The Roleplay Workshop! That means camping trips! Every summer we run some of our best games in the outdoors at Samuel P. Taylor Park. What better place to build stories than under the beautiful redwoods of Marin? What better way to reach epic and dramatic game moments than sitting around a crackling campfire?

All our trips come with location, tents, and meals included - bring your friends on a different vacation and make a story you'll all remember!

Ages 14 - 17*

All trips are from 11 AM Monday through 3 PM Friday
Prior Abantey experience required
Pre-Trip Meeting: required (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening the week before)

* participants age 13, with prior experience may be able to attend subject to approval

Workshops (ages 14 and up link)

We’ve been running games and training Game Masters how to create engaging stories since 1989 – nearly 30 years – and have developed several workshops that target challenging areas of game design and play.

Each of these hands-on workshops is designed to teach specific skills through practice, exercises, and feedback.

You can enroll in single workshops at $75.00 (price reduction!) per workshop, or sign up for all four for $240.00 (price reduction)!

These programs are open to ages 14 and up!

Adult Programs (ages 18+ link)

We offer several groups for adults, using a variety of game systems. Each game world is sculpted by the actions of all the game groups in that setting – creating truly an epic scale of adventure and high stakes adventures. Story arcs for these games are geared for adults, and are fast paced, dangerous, and embroil the characters in the greater machinations of each game world.

Ongoing Adult programs sliding scale, $40 - $60 per game

Abantey - 2nd & 4th Saturdays, 6 PM to 11 PM, ages 17 - 21, 2 spaces available
Abantey - 1st Sunday, noon to 5 PM, ages 21+, 2 spaces available
Apoc-Abantey - 3rd Saturday, 6 PM to 11 PM, ages 21+ (experienced) 1 space available

We have the following dates and times available to begin new groups, featuring any of the game worlds and systems we use (Abantey, Apoc-Abantey, CyberPunk, Burning Wheel, or Serenity)!

Adult Camping Trips (Ages 18+)

The crackle of the campfire. The most epic stories under the Redwoods. A full home-cooked breakfast. You know what that means - summer camping trips with The Roleplay Workshop! We're looking to have many options for this summer, with potential games in Abantey, Apoc-Abantey, or Cyberpunk - all players' choice.

Catch up with old friends and learn Becky's latest plans for all the heroes, villains, and antiheroes you remember. Take a vacation week and join us for laughs, action, drama, and (careful) planning!
