As you may know, Transition Earth is one of only a small number of organizations addressing the links between population, health, rights, and the environment.

A quick sampling of recent news underscores the importance of addressing multiple issues at the same time – from 60 percent of primates facing extinction to 2016 being the hottest year on record to threats to women’s health.  It truly is all connected, and we need healthy people in order to have a thriving planet, and vice versa.

Be sure to keep us with us on Facebook, where we post many critical and interesting articles!
Meet Candela, Our Youth Blogger!

We are honored and excited to introduce Candela Vázquez Asenjo as our new youth blogger.

Candela is a 22-year-old international student from Spain who aspires to be a social entrepreneur, with a focus on international environmental problems.

She is a busy and talented young woman. Candela is a graduate from the Environmental Economics and International Law Summer School Program at Harvard University; a student of Environmental Management at the University of Manchester; and she's simultaneously completing a Law degree at Nebrija University, in Madrid, with a focus on Environmental Law.

Candela has a passion for studying and understanding environmental sustainability. She is currently an intern at Plastic Kills / El Plástico Mata, a growing network of online movements working to stop the irresponsible use of plastics worldwide.

Read Candela’s thoughtful piece titled The Consequences of Today, for Tomorrow’s World on how, in the face of a growing human population and high levels of consumption, each of us should search for the truth and take responsibility for our actions.

Check Out The Ecological Citizen

Get a sneak peak of the first edition of The Ecological Citizen.  It is billed as “a peer-reviewed, free-to-access journal that provides a forum for inspiring and mobilizing discussion with an Earth-centred perspective.”  The first article, to give us a taste of the journal, is by John Davis, founding editor of Wild Earth. John writes that this forum is needed Because it takes a community to save a corridor... It will take a community to restore vital connections not only between wild places on the ground but also between people and the natural world.

Transition Earth is a 'Friend of the Journal' and on the advisory board.  We look forward to reading, and at times contributing, enlightening and outside-the-box articles to steer us toward a world that respects both nature and human rights.
