Farce is comedy which places exaggerated characters in improbable situations contending outrageous obstacles. They have been around since the 5th Century BC.
BCP don’t go quite that far back with their next production, but are delighted to be bringing award-winning playwright Ray Cooney’s "Caught in the Net" to The Mill Arts Centre as an antidote to those winter blues.
In this, his second foray into farce, Director, Terry Gallager believes farce still thrives today and promises to continue making us laugh, now and into the future.
In this up-to-date sequel to Run for your Wife, bigamist John Smith is still battling with his two wives but this time is also trying to keep his two teenage children (one by each wife) from meeting – they having got in contact via an online dating agency.
Aided and abetted by his hopeless lodger, Stanley, the ever-spiralling situation gets increasingly out of hand with riotous results.
The production opens at The Mill Arts Centre, Spiceball Pk Rd, Banbury, OX16 5QE on 1 February 2017 and runs until 4 February 2017. Curtain up 7.45pm.
Tickets are available from The Mill Box Office or 01295 279002.
