Google Maps soon shows how difficult parking is near your destination

Google Maps has great influence on mobility and mode choice, no doubt. With their new feature the difficulty of finding a nearby parking spot is shown. This might make even longer urban bike rides more attractive to many. 

Uber launches Uber Movements - OD data

During the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington DC last week, Uber's Movement product Manager Jordan Gilbertson presented his product at a launch reception at start up space 1776. 
Hard to balance between openness and data privacy concerns. Uber chose to make their own portal to give some processed trip data "back" to cities.
The World Bank is encouraging data providers to take a different approach via the Open Transport Partnership. Uber does not (yet) participate in that initiative...
