President's Message
Hélène Cadinot, 2017 NBSMLT President
The New year brings good resolutions that we may have trouble keeping up through the year. Unfinished projects of the past year are carried forward to the new year and new projects will begin. The same can be said for our regulatory association with projects to finish or start, and there are always unexpected events to manage. To face this, the entire board of directors and myself, the president of the association for 2017, will once again devote ourselves to serve the best interests of our members.
Whatever your plans or aspirations for this new year, we wish you, dear members, a happy year 2017 full of success.

*Hélène Cadinot is an Internationally Educated Medical Laboratory Technologist from France, who became CSMLS certified in 2014 after an intensive bridging program while working as an MLA at the Georges L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, where she then gained experience as a point of care coordinator, hematology & blood bank, and now works in the Chemistry Department as an MLT. She is an aficianodo of locally crafted beer, a fine cheese and a good ol' maritime kitchen party.

 Start planning your #LABWEEK2017 events
Your academy can earn 100$ from the NBSMLT + catering from National Bank for lab week by simply inviting a National Bank representative for a 1 hour Lunch & learn on a fiscal topic of your choice for your local educational /social event. Have your academy rep contact office@nbsmlt.nb.ca to make arrangements ( not your local branch)

 Volunteer recognition Awards: LABCON 2017 Grants
2 grants of 1000$ will be granted for LABCON 2017 in Banff AB
- Submit a letter of request in Word format and include: Name, Title, Workplace, Email, Previous awards/grants/funding received in past 3 years and a list of volunteer activities throughout career as MLT/MLA at academy, provincial and national levels ( includes academy meeting attendance)
Submit the above to office@nbsmlt.nb.ca before February 17th. All submissions are submitted anonymously to the awards committee for selection *open to all current 2017 members of the NBSMLT

Avec la nouvelle année viennent les bonnes résolutions qu’on a beaucoup de mal à tenir. On reporte les projets non terminés de l’année écoulée, et/ou on en commence de nouveaux. Il en va un peu de même pour les associations avec des projets à finir ou commencer, des imprévus à gérer. Pour affronter cela, l’ensemble du conseil d’administration et moi –même, la présidente de l’association pour 2017, nous allons cette année encore nous dévouer pour servir au mieux les intérêts de nos membres.
Quels que soient vos projets ou aspirations pour cette nouvelle année, nous vous souhaitons à tous, chers membres, une heureuse année 2017 pleine de réussite.

* Hélène Cadinot est une TLM formé en France qui est devenue certifié par la SCSLM en 2014 après avoir complété un programme de transition intense en travaillant comme ALM au CHUDGLD. Son expérience inclut les analyses hors laboratoire, l'hématologie et sciences transfusionnelles et maintenant la chimie. Elle aime apprendre de nos bières artisanales, le formage fin et un bon party acadien!

 Planifier votre semaine laboratoire 2017
Votre académie peut récupérer 100$+restauration pour la semaine labo, simplement en invitant la Banque Nationale pour venir parler à votre évènement local sur un sujet de votre choix. Contacter office@nbsmlt.nb.ca pour le coordiner ( et non votre sucursale)

 Bourse reconnaissance des bénévoles:LABCON 2017
2 bourses de 1000$ seront décernés pour LABCON 2017 Banff
- Soumettre une lettre en format word et inclure: Nom, titre, lieu de travail,courriel, bourses/fonds reçus dans les 3 dernières années, ainsi qu'une liste d'activités de bénévolat dans la profession au niveau de l'académie, ATLMNB et/ou national ( inclu la présence aux réunions d'académie)
Soumettre à office@nbsmlt.nb.ca avant le 17 février 2017. Les lettres seront soumis sans noms au comité de prix et bourses. * offert à tous les membres de l'ATLMNB
