If you're not already signed up to receive the newsletter, there's a bright green button at the bottom where you can do so.

Thanks for being here.

All is well,

love is all you need

Richard Bailey is Coronado's 51st Mayor

Why would a man who is capable of doing anything in the world, go through all the work to win an election for a job that pays $435 a month?

I had a wonderful time interviewing Coronado’s new Mayor, Richard Bailey, who has since become a great friend, and he shared a personal story with me that answers this question.

While not everyone grew up with loving, supportive, sincere and kind parents, Richard did, and it shaped his character in all the best ways.

When Richard was little, his father, Rick, took great care of his family as well as an elderly neighbor named Helen.  Helen would call Rick when she needed help, sometimes it was the lawn that needed attention, other times it was simply changing a light bulb that was too high to reach.

Rick would faithfully go and help-out Helen.  Richard recalls a time when his father had worked all day, coached his little league team after work, sat down with the family for dinner and then the phone rang, just when Rick was finally getting ready to relax.

“Every single time she would call, my dad would pick up the phone, even if it came at his own expense…to drive to the hardware store and buy the lightbulb or bring over his lawn mower and get her lawn mowed.  He always looked out for her.  He is probably one of the most patient people I know.”

Richard said that those experiences helped him.  “It taught me to look after people, especially people that are in a position where they can’t look out for themselves.  It’s important to show the initiative, to actually improve someone’s life.  That’s rewarding, whether you realize it at the time or not, it is rewarding.”

To this day, Richard, his dad, mom, and sister get together most weeks for family dinner in the house he and his sister grew up in.  It’s not complicated.  It’s simply good, old-school love.  It’s people looking out for each other that makes the difference from a tough life experience to one of peace and boundless opportunity.  Just by being a witness to kindness, Richard picked it up.

Throughout his childhood, he was loved, supported, and believed in.  Now, he can do anything.  With his skills and experience, Richard could clearly make millions; he’s capable of so much.  Yet, he graciously accepts only $435 a month from the City of Coronado so that he can take care of this town and the people in it.

Thanks, Rick, for being a great dad to Richard and for being an example of how to take good care of people.  Your kindness now benefits this town through your son.

Thanks Richard Bailey, for taking on a
part-time job as Mayor of this magnificent Crown City with full-time sincerity, care, and attention.

All love, friend.

blooper reel...for some reason, getting our picture taken turned out to be really funny!

video Q & A with evan

Do you have a real estate question? Call, text, or send me an email.  Evan and I love this stuff and have a lot of fun answering questions and putting videos together.

You don't have to wait a whole month to get your questions answered though; that would just be silly.  We'll answer your questions right away and then share a video with everyone else in the perfect time.

I'm going to be spending time with
THE Chip Garry.  For those of you who don't yet know Chip, he's a wonderful guy and a whole lot of fun!  I have no idea what we'll talk about next month, but I know it will be amazing.

Do you know someone who is awesome and kind...if you do, contact me.  I would love to sit down, get to know them and then share all the love with you.

If you know someone who would enjoy this newsletter, please feel free to forward it.

I love to host and visit open houses. Below are pictures that I've taken from some of the beautiful properties currently on the market. (Current as of the moment this newsletter is published.)

For more information on these and any other properties, or to have your house listed, let's get together.
15 floors above the City of Coronado on a calm, rainy day.
To the left of these exposed beams and asymmetrical fireplace is an expansive view of the Pacific.
This is the ocean view to the left of those exposed beams pictured above...how does it feel to sit and do nothing from this spot?
The details make all the difference, especially in a house built in the early 1900s.
1901 meets modern elegance.
This view comes with over 9,000 square feet of house. Depending on how you live now, it could be a lot more space  to spread out or a way to explore downsizing!  :)
Have you been dreaming about a boulder in the middle of your living room? It's possible and it's for sale!
The tough choice here is do you sit on the chairs, in the hot tub, or on the yacht?  (Technically, this yacht belongs to the neighbors so you may want to get to know them before you relax on the bow.)
Welcome home.

In addition to being the love real estate broker, evan is also an amazing artist.

Below are a few of the beautiful things he made recently...
This is a two foot long, plasma cut, aluminum model for what will become the accent piece in our 4x4 mobile office pictured above.
This tranquil beauty is a candle holder made from reclaimed bamboo.
Beautifully designed and crafted pens...because sometimes when you sign your name, you want to do it with elegance.
Remember door stops?
evan made a few extra! If you need a door stop, call me.
