Easter Series #2

Lesson 1970: Passover Seder, Pt.2

White linen symbolizes righteousness. Rev.19:7-8

The father wears a white Seder robe, symbol of our High Priest, the risen Christ. Heb.7:18-8:2

A woman must light the candles. The 1st promise of a Redeemer: the Light of the world would be the seed of a woman (Mary). Gen.3:15

The Seder meal includes 4 cups of wine and 3 pieces of unleavened bread.

The 1st wine cup of sanctification is used to consecrate all the preparations.

The 3 pieces of bread (like large crackers) are placed in 3 compartments of a cloth envelope.

The bread is marked with stripes from the grill, and pierced with holes from a fork.

Isa.53:5 (ESV + KJV) describes the crucified Christ: pierced, with stripes (wounds). Zec.12:10

The father breaks the middle loaf, wraps it in another white cloth and hides (buries) it.

The Hebrew name of the middle piece of bread means “I have come”. Jews don’t seem to know why.
