Workshops, Hackathons, OpenHours and Bears... Oh My!

Introduction

Hello, once again and welcome to the second installment of the 96Boards OpenHours “Weekly Digest” email newsletter. While we’re sure you are no longer wondering how this email go into your inbox, you are welcome to visit the “Weekly Digest” Signup Form if you have any questions/concerns.

This new digest is just ramping up as we approach our first 1k subscribers in under a month! I couldn’t be more excited to keep this going with exciting 96Boards content, announcements, contests, and giveaways.

This week in 96Boards you can expect a wide variety of content to flow your way as Qualcomm and 96Boards tackle the H.A.R.D. hackathon in beautiful San Diego, California. This hackathon will take place on the University of California, San Diego campus in the world famous Erwin and Joan Jacobs Engineering building (Warren College). I am sure we will see these students push out some amazing projects. We at 96Boards can’t wait to feature as many projects on our website, as well as issue OpenHours invites to showcase their hard work to the community.

In other news, last week one of our lucky OpenHours community members won a Bubblegum-96 for simply following us on Twitter! We hope to continue these giveaways, so long as the community is here to back up our efforts!

This week(January 19, 2017)...

We spoke with some very bright engineers from STMircroelectronics on their efforts in System level ESD protection. This episode consisted of a nice presentation, the announcement of a new 96Boards mezzanine, and many questions from the community around this topic. Be sure to check out this awesome and informative episode on YouTube!

Next week(January 26, 2017)...

The 96Boards team will meet with one of our very own Core Community Members (Abraxas3d) to talk about her work in building a beowulf system using 96Boards. This particular beowulf system will use four DragonBoard 410c’s and we want to know how she did it. Join us to hear about why Abraxas3d chose 96Boards in her design, learn about how she built the system, and after the show enjoy a guest written blog with instructions on how to create the system yourself! We will also be uploading this project to the 96Boards page and YouTube, for those who are not able to make the show!
