Update on 2017 West Hatch High School Year 13 University offers
West Hatch High School is very proud of its success in helping students secure offers at their first choice Universities.
A tailored programme of activities and workshops are delivered during Year 12 to help students build their vision and pathway. Students are shown how to apply online, are mentored in their writing of personal statements and references are gathered from academic staff and other tutors.
On commencing Year 13 students are given tailored advice and guidance before sending their application.
Offers can be made by Universities quite quickly. As of February 2017 Russell Group universities applied to that have already replied with student offers include Birmingham, Exeter, Kings College London, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Queen Mary, Southampton, University College London, Warwick and York.
These offers cover a huge variety of courses including Accounting, Architecture, Criminology, Economics, Fashion Management, Film Production, Human Biology, Human Geography, International Management, Mathematics, Medicine, Mechanical Engineering, Sports and Exercise Science and Veterinary Nursing.
Approximately 80% of Sixth Form students select University as their next step after leaving West Hatch Sixth Form.
Those students who choose to go onto a Higher Apprenticeship, School Leaver programme or Sponsored degree are mentored and guided throughout the intense stages of their application and assessments.
The students are at the core of all that we do. We strive to ensure they each receive specialised and tailored support to help them on the next stage of their journey.
