Adoption event at Pet Valu

If you've got love to share, we've got cats who want to meet you! Come meet adoptable kitties who are hoping to find their forever homes in time for Valentine's Day at Pet Valu east (2035 Prince of Wales Drive) on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An update on Tilly

Remember Tilly? We wanted to share an update on the progress of this special kitty. After months of treatment for a severe infection in her jaw with little success, RCR volunteers along with Tilly's vet decided the best option was to surgically remove the piece of her jaw where the infection couldn't be controlled. We're very happy to share that the surgery was a great success! Thanks to Tilly's incredible will to live, amazing vet care and TLC in foster care, this sweet kitty will soon be ready for adoption.

Who is RCR? Q&A with an RCR volunteer

It takes a small army to keep RCR going, and one important role is ensuring cats at satellite adoption centres receive lots of socialization and love. That's where RCR volunteer, Roxanne Betz, comes in! Roxanne provides orientation and training to satellite adoption centre volunteers helping ensure the cats stay happy and healthy while they await adoption. Learn more about Roxanne and her role at RCR.

Forever homes found. A total of 47 cats found their forever homes in January.

Bingo! RCR can always use help working fundraising bingos. Upcoming shifts are on Feb. 5 & 18. More info available here.

Thanks PreZoomably Cats! A big thanks to the team at PreZoomably Cats for providing grooming to a number of RCR cats in January at no charge. The kitties look ah-mazing!

Need menswear? February is the month of love at Trinos Menswear! Bring a donation of funds, food or litter to Trino's Menswear (2445 Quance St.) until Feb.28 at 6 p.m. and receive 20 per cent off your entire purchase.

February's Metro Cat

Thanks to Metro Pet Market for Spaying It Forward! This month, Metro paid for Kihew's spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet guardianship. Kihew was rescued by a volunteer who found her shivering, malnourished and scared on a cold winter day. A pellet was also found lodged in her leg. Now that she's recovered from her injuries and has been spayed, she's ready to find a loving forever home. View her adoption profile and for more information about Metro Pet Market, please visit metropetmarket.ca.

Employee Award

Congrats to SaskPower employee Alanna Whippler who volunteerd over 1,000 hours to Regina Cat Rescue in 2016 and received $500 from SaskPower to present to RCR. SaskPower's Employee Volunteer Program rewards employees volunteering in their communities by providing funds to the non-profit organizations they serve. Great work, Alanna!
Photo of the Month! Timmothy had a rough go on the streets where he was being picked on by other cats. Thankfully, he's now recovering in RCR's care and enjoying the good life indoors!
