Our PhD Students Present their Research!

Digital simulation, autonomous vehicles, multimodal transportation, mobility, cybersecurity, smart city, energy, big data, blockchain… all these topics will be raised at this first edition of ThesisDay@SystemX, on February 22!

Three important highlights on the agenda:
    > A keynote on the relationships between science and industry.
    > 3-minutes pitches of 15 PhD students.
    > Poster session with the participation of about 30 young researchers.

SystemX Involved in the "France IA" Initiative 

On January 20, Axelle Lemaire (Secretary of State for Digital Affairs and Innovation) launched "France IA", a national initiative on artificial intelligence. SystemX will be involved in this strategy in leading a working group dedicated to autonomous transport and artificial intelligence, alongside with the Directorate General for Enterprises (DGE).

 
 
 

[FIC 2017] Focus on Transportation Cybersecurity

The 9th edition of the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC), the reference European event that brings together all the players in digital trust, was held from 24 to 25 January in Lille. SystemX participated in this event to present the CTI project, dedicated to Intelligent Transport Cybersecurity. Witold Klaudel (CTI project manager) tells us about this forum.

 
 
 

A Collaboration for a Better Mastery of the Cyber Risk

On November 2015, SystemX, Airbus, AMRAE (Association for Risk Management and Company Insurances), FFA (French Federation of Insurance) and FERMA (Federation of European Risk Management Associations) launched a working group for a better mastery of the cyber risk. Its 2017 roadmap is already established and will conduct to the publication of a white paper by the end of the year.

A SystemX PhD Student Rewarded by EKAW

The 20th International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management (EKAW 2016), took place from 19 to 23 November in Bologna (Italy). Rashedur Rahman, PhD student within the IMM project, received the best poster award. This prize rewards his research efforts on "Graph-based Relation Validation Method".

 
 
 

My Thesis in Three Years

Romain Gratia, PhD student, completed his doctoral thesis on the following topic: “A generic, efficient approach to mixed criticality sequencing for multi-core processors”. He came back on the three years of his doctoral thesis within the ELA project.

Inria is Launching a MOOC to Understand the Smart City

Inria has just launched a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) to allow everyone to understand the Smart City. Students will have access to an exhaustive overview of connected cities' digital infrastructures, with a particular focus on technologies that would foster a citizen involvement. Registration are opened until April 9!

Paris-Saclay is the first Paris area agglomeration community to set up an open data portal. This portal make available 101 datas sets from the agglomeration's cities and the Paris-Saclay public development establishment (EPAPS).

Inauguration of BIOASTER in Lyon
The IRT BIOASTER, specializing in microbiology, inaugurated its news premises in Lyon on February 3. This new research center will bring together 120 researchers from 17 different nationalities. Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research), Thierry Mandon (Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research) and Louis Schweitzer (General Commissioner for Investment) attended this event.

End of the SIP Project

Autonomous Transport

Augmented Reality and Autonomous Car at the center of LRA Project's Studies
The LRA (Localization and Augmented Reality))project is designed for automobile sectors, to study the use of augmented reality in the autonomous vehicle, and for the railways sector, to track changes in signaling solutions. Discover in video two case studies carried out within the project: "The Augmented reality for the Autonomous Car” and “The Augmented Reality Interface for the Autonomous Line Change".

SystemX Involvement in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Car Researches
On February 3, Systematic organized, in collaboration with SystemX, the plenary meeting of its "Transport and Mobility" thematic group. Internet of Trust

A White Paper for Developing the French Cybersecurity Sector
HexaTrust and Systematic just co-signed a white paper on cybersecurity and digital trust. SystemX contributes to the achievement of this document, which details the French cybersecurity sector's challenges, regulations, researches and growth leverages. This white paper also presents SystemX and its CHESS (Cybersecurity Hardening Environment for Systems of Systems) platform.

SystemX Adresses the Cybersecurity Technological Challenges
On January 30, DGA-MI and Inria Rennes organized a SoSySec seminar on the issue of the technological challenges of cybersecurity. Nabil Bouzerna (plateforms architect) and Flavien Quesnel (research engineer) presented SystemX and the activities in the field of cybersecurity, and more specifically the research efforts conducted under the EIC (Environment for Cybersecurity Interoperability and Integration) project and the CHESS platform which is financed by ANSSI.

On January 24, the association Innovation Makers Alliance organized an event dedicated to Blockchain: IMAgine Blockchain. François Stephan (Deputy CEO - International & Development) presented, during a talk, the SystemX Blockchain for Smart Transactions (BST) Project and the panorama of its research efforts.

End of the MIC Project

SystemX alongside with the Paris-Region Council in Singapore
From February 9 to 10, Francois Stephan (Deputy CEO - International and Development) participated, along with Thierry Louvet (Systematic - International Affairs Director), to a visit of a delegation from the Paris-Region Council headed by its President, Valérie Pécresse. Organized by the French Embassy at Singapore, this visit was aimed to work on collaborations between Singapore and Paris-Region ecosystems on Smart Territories initiatives. 

SystemX Participation in a Big Data International Ecosystem Meeting
Jean-Marie Davesnes (European Affairs) attended the Information and Networking Days, set up by the European Commission (EC) at Luxembourg, from January 17 to 18. The main goal of this event was to better understand the Big Data Ecosystem. More than 80 speeches were planned, on the following model: 3 slides, 3 minutes. SystemX was one of them.
