Dear friends,

We hope you've been well! It's hard to believe that we are one month into 2017 already! It has been such a tumultuous few weeks -- along with many others we are still working to find a balance between engagement and self-care, not an easy task when the headlines have been so alarming and the nation feels in many ways divided. (These essays on cynicism and hope have some beautiful passages.)

On the other hand, seeing so many children, elders, and everyone in between out walking with homemade signs displaying heartfelt messages has reinforced our faith in our country and our community. It made us love Boston even more.

Below we share a few recent favorites. Hope to see you soon on the blog, or on facebook, twitter, or instagram

Sending you all our best,

xo

WHAT WE'RE LOVING THIS MONTH

Local talent. So much talent in this city. Caught our eye this month: concerts at Berklee College of Music, a community of artists exhibiting together in Fort Point (closing soon), and an unusual combination of flavors at new restaurant PAGU.

Travel! This weather has me fondly remembering Serena's first dip in the ocean last winter. Our contributor Elizabeth's weekend getaway to Kennebunkport sounds so delightful.

Getting involved. This post has some great tips on how to make a difference.

A few fun links: Neanderthals were people too, this might make a few parents laugh, this granola looks so good.
