Maggie’s List proudly endorses Betsy DeVos for Secretary of Education. In an open letter of support that went out Friday afternoon, Maggie’s List—along with 70-signatories-- strongly advocated for DeVos’s confirmation.

Citing DeVos’s role as an “undisputed champion of families and students” for 30-years, the letter highlights the Education nominee’s new vision.

“She embraces innovation, endorses accountability and—most especially—trusts parents to choose what is in their unique child’s best interests,” the letter states. “She also believes in providing every parent with the resources and choices to pursue those decisions.”

The response to the letter in support of DeVos was so strong that it crashed the site, excelined.org, for those trying to access it!

Other signatories to the letter included: Americans for Prosperity, Foundation for Excellence in Education, and many more!
The Maggie's List board enthusiastically supported the endorsement, and many board members and state chairs have worked with DeVos over the years in service of our shared values. Maggie's List South Dakota State Chair Mary Jean Jensen explained: "I served with Betsy DeVos on the RNC and have the utmost respect for her hard work in providing an excellent education for children."

DeVos is widely recognized as an advocate for school choice and voucher programs which are in line with the Maggie’s List values of limited government and more personal responsibility. Maggie’s List proudly supports Betsy DeVos, and we will stand by her as she awaits confirmation by the U.S. Senate!
