Psychological Strategies (formerly known as ATAPS)
EMPHN Access to Allied Psychological Services Program (ATAPS) has been rebranded and is now called Psychological Strategies. This rebranding has been undertaken as a part of the refinement of the EMPHN stepped care approach to mental health, with a focus on client centred care in the services that we commission.
The Psychological Strategies Program (formerly known as ATAPS) has been developed for:
people who are from low income/disadvantaged backgrounds;
people presenting with mild to moderate mental health issues; and
Currently, there are over 150 mental health clinicians working from a large number of locations in the outer eastern, inner eastern and north eastern regions of Melbourne.
These clinicians have a broad range of skills and collectively speak 24 languages other than English. If patients require an interpreter, the Psychological Strategies Program will also pay for one.
Commonwealth funding for the Psychological Strategies Program (formerly known as ATAPS) is capped. However, we encourage you to consider referring appropriate patients as there is currently capacity to provide support.
Please call the EMPHN intake line on (03) 9800 1071, if you have any questions.

Hep C And You: A User Guide To The Latest Information
The Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League has developed a new guide, Hep C and You: A User Guide to the Latest Information, to enhance understanding of hepatitis C transmission, testing and treatment among people who inject drugs.
Through an extensive community consultation process, Hep C and You has been developed by peers for people who inject, and aims to increase hepatitis C literacy and encourage people living with hepatitis C or at risk of transmission to get tested and undertake treatment, if required.
Funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health, the resource is a plain language explanation of hepatitis C, screening and treatment options and can be provided to patients by GPs and other health professionals.
For more information or to order copies of the resource, please contact James Dunne, Director Programs and Communications at jamesd@aivl.org.auor on 02 6279 1600.
