Stonewall Workplace Equality Index Results Announced
The pre-eminent Stonewall Workplace Equality Index (WEI), published the 2017 Top 100 Employers List this month. This year 439 employers participated in the WEI with 91,248 employees across Britain taking part in the staff feedback questionnaire. Top spot went to Lloyds Banking Group, with the Legal Profession having the highest representation of 17 firms in the Top 100. Once again Aviva was the only insurance firm in the Top 100, see the quote below. The great news is that more insurance firms are joining the Stonewall Diversity Champions Programme (15 so far) and submitting entries. Of those, several firms are celebrating significant leaps in their placement, the current (unofficial) leader is Zurich moving 133 places in the last 3 years. hopefully Aviva will have some company next year.

Link Up North's monthly networking drinks are on the first Thursday of every month. Join us at Fibre in Leeds for drinks, networking and a good catch-up from 17:30 onwards. These networking drinks are open to all who work in professional and financial services who are LGBT+ or Allies.

Engaging with allies is a key factor of network success, often allowing networks to leverage a wider base of active members and prevent us from "preaching to the choir".
In this event, hosted by Bond Dickinson, we'll discuss how to engage and leverage allies to extend the reach of your network. Allies from Aviva and Lloyds Banking Group will share details of their initiatives, and answer your questions on allies.

Volunteer 1 hour to speak to Students
Link has a stall at the Careers Fair at Student Pride on Saturday 25th February. We are looking for volunteers to spend an hour in and around our stall to engage with students and encourage them to consider Insurance as a career path.
