Colleen Black-Semelka Ceramics at James Applewhite Poetry Invitational

Beth Bale at Watercolor Society of NC Central Region Exhibit

Beth Bale is exhibiting two watercolor paintings at the Watercolor Society of NC’s Central Region (WSNC) Exhibit. The exhibit includes 21 original watercolor paintings from members of the NC Watercolor Society, on display and for sale at Baptist Medical Center. Beth is a member of the WSNC Board of Directors.

Horty Jacobs Photographs at Carolina Brewery

“Beauty at the End of the Line”, a photo series by Horty Jacobs, will be featured in a solo exhibit at the Carolina Brewery in February and March.
 

Horty is drawn to abandoned things, vehicles and buildings, which left unprotected from the elements transform from what were once unblemished surfaces into arresting compositions of color, texture and shape. The images are printed with no digital manipulation or enhancements to capture exactly what Horty saw through the camera lens. 


Vidabeth Bensen Workshop at National Art Education Association

Vidabeth will demonstrate Simple Screen Printing for art teachers of all grades at the National Art Education Association Convention in NYC March 2nd - 5th. The convention is attended by art teachers from all over the country.

Exploring Color, Part 1

In a mere 3 class sessions, you will learn how to mix any color you desire, in your medium of choice. If mixing colors is a frustrating experience for you, or if your colors tend to end up like mud, this class is what you need!

Unlike other forms of printmaking, monoprints & collagraphs do not require much technical skill or preparation, so they are great for beginners and people who don't like to plan. The process tends to unleash the imagination, so it's a great place for some untethered self­ expression!

Beth Bale is currently teaching beginner to intermediate watercolor classes at The Joyful Jewel. Students focus on painting landscapes and animals loosely in watercolor in a fun, no-pressure atmosphere, guided by Beth's demonstrations of specific skills and with time to practice techniques.
