UNEXMIN project
Autonomous underwater explorer for flooded mines
UNEXMIN is developing a novel robotic system for the autonomous exploration and mapping of flooded mines. The Robotic Explorer (UX-1) will use non-invasive methods for autonomous 3D mine mapping for gathering geological and mineralogical information.

|
¡VAMOS! project
¡Viable and alternative mine operating system!
¡VAMOS! will enable access to high grade reserves of deeper seated minerals by providing a new safe, clean and low visibility mining technique, and will prove the environmental and economic viability of extracting currently unreachable mineral deposits.

DeepFloat project
Floating variation system for underwater applications
DeepFloat aims to develop hybrid variable ballast systems (VBS), using a mix-concept of dealing with oil to pump water. The proposed concept consists of a flexible VBS for deep underwater applications with advanced control capabilities. This system consists of a component that allows varying the buoyancy of a wide range of vehicles and systems for operation in the ocean environment, at different depths up to 4.000 meters.

SIDENAV project
Smart infrastructure for deep sea navigation
SIDENAV aims to develop a demonstrator that validates and applies technology that enables, among others, the exploitation of mineral resources in deep-sea waters. It is generally intended to demonstrate the feasibility of developing an application that results in innovative dynamic infrastructure for positioning, navigation systems to operate in the seabed, such as systems for mining operations.
